On Monday, July 20th, our community will be hosting a “party on wheels” as over 10,000 registered Ragbrai bicyclists’ pedal through our hometown on their route to Fort Dodge. The riders will be traveling from Storm Lake in search of food, beverages, shade, and an overall “party experience”!
Ragbrai committee members are working hard to coordinate this great event for our city; however, a massive amount of volunteer help will be needed to pull off this huge event.
Food Vendors are also needed to feed this huge crowd. The event offers a tremendous opportunity for groups to host a vendor booth and raise dollars for their organization or project.
Please share in the festivities and let’s show the “outside world” what a great place Manson is to live and “party”! Volunteer and vendor forms are attached. Contact Penny Lenz at
for additional information.

NOTICE – STREET CLOSING – Monday, JULY 20TH (RAGBRAI)
On Monday, July 20th, as Manson hosts 15-20,000 RAGBRAI riders, our quiet town will be filled with “commotion” and residents will be a little bit inconvenienced with the closing of Main Street. RAGBRAI Riders will enter Manson from the North on N65, ride down Main Street and exit on Highway 7. The RAGBRAI event will officially start at 8 am and all riders should depart by 3 pm.
Parking restrictions on Main Street will start at 12:01am, Monday, July 20th and the street will be closed at 7am in preparation for the cyclists. If your vehicle is normally parked with access to Main Street and you will need to use a vehicle for transportation during the street closing you will need to find another location to park your vehicle. Please note that some business street closings will begin Sunday afternoon.
All residents will need to be aware that automobiles will NOT be allowed to cross or travel on Main Street for the duration of the event. All Main Street driveways will be blocked with a steady stream of thousands of cyclists. Residents are advised to be prepared for the street closing and increased traffic by leaving home early or just walking or riding a bike to your destination. Everyone is welcome to come downtown and mingle with the RAGBRAI riders, enjoy lunch from our local vendors, as well as, food truck cuisine and music (Culprits & Jay Clyde Band) in the beer garden behind the Mini Mall.
